People are spending more time working on themselves than ever before.

They’re reading the books, listening to the podcasts, going to therapy, investing in their growth, paying attention to their health, building businesses, changing habits, setting bigger goals, and becoming more aware of the lives they want to create.

You would think that would answer the question.

For a lot of people, it doesn’t.

They’ve made progress. They’ve achieved things they once wanted. They’ve become more capable, more disciplined, more self-aware.

And yet something keeps pulling at them.

They arrive somewhere meaningful and find themselves wondering:

Is this really it?

Is this really the life I was meant to create?

Is this the edge of what’s possible for me?

What Gets Rewarded

Because somewhere along the way, many people stop asking what they want and start pursuing what gets rewarded.

Part of the reason this happens is because the world rewards people for becoming who they think they’re supposed to be.

It rewards the person who knows how to be impressive.

The person who holds it together.

The person whose ideas make sense to everyone else.

The person who knows how to be needed, successful, and dependable

Those rewards are real. That’s what makes the pattern so hard to see.

People tend to repeat what gets rewarded.

Over time, people become very good at being the version of themselves that works. They build more and more of their lives around what gets rewarded… the role, the praise, the achievement, the identity that makes sense to everyone else.

And because it produces results, it’s easy to mistake what has worked for what’s possible.

That’s how people end up building their lives around what gets rewarded instead of what they want.

This is what I mean by Borrowed Worth.

Borrowed Worth is what happens when you start looking outside yourself for something that was never outside you.

It can look like ambition, discipline, maturity, or being the person everyone can count on.

The problem is that the outside world was never meant to be the source.

It can reflect value, recognize value, and celebrate value.

But it can’t define what’s possible for you.

Different Rooms. Same Key.

Performance can build a very impressive life. It can open doors, create momentum, earn praise, and create results.

But eventually many people start wondering whether what they’ve built is the edge of what’s possible… or simply the edge of what they’ve learned to expect from themselves.

Most people assume the limitation is effort because effort is visible. They can measure the hours, the discipline, the consistency.

What they don’t always question are the assumptions underneath all of it.

The assumptions about what is realistic.

What is available.

What kind of life they believe is possible for them.

It’s easy to mistake what has worked for the edge of what’s possible.

This is where people tend to look in the wrong place.

Identity is not one area of your life. It is the lens through which every area of your life is experienced.

Your relationships pass through it. Your ambition passes through it. Your decisions pass through it. Your money, creativity, standards, and sense of what’s possible all pass through it.

That’s why the same limitation can show up in completely different places.

A business that’s plateaued.

A relationship that’s no longer enough.

A version of yourself you’ve outgrown.

A pivot you’ve been avoiding.

Different rooms. Same key.

The Source

Most of it comes back to two questions:

Who am I allowed to be?

And who am I afraid to become?

More of life gets shaped by those questions than most realize.

The question is whether they’re building from who they are or from who they’ve learned to be.

Most people spend years trying to change their lives without ever questioning what they’re building them from.

That’s the idea at the heart of The You Value.

You Are The Value.

The source you’ve been looking for was never outside of you. And when you stop looking for it there, something else becomes available.

Possibility.

Not the version you’ve been sold.

The kind that changes the life you create.

Nobody can give it to you.

Nobody can take it away.

You are the value.
